An article in Foxsports.com by Randy Hill argues that LeBron is no longer the most popular player in the league or at least he's not Mr. Popular anymore.

If the King ain't the most popular player in the NBA, it's gotta be Shaq Daddy I'd say. Let me tell you though that the King's gotta be quite popular right now and I don't see anyone taking his spot. Cheers to Shaq Daddy though. He's funny, cool and smooth.

I would think LeBron is 1 and Shaq is 1a. And the next most popular basketball player doesn't even play, Charles Barkley.

Well, Barkley had some talent in the NBA in his day, but Shaq not just talented in balling, he's also a truly funny, cool and personable guy. Plus he quite intelligent and has degrees in law. Barkley was one of my favorite players back then, but he's just a fat joke right now.

Sure, those 3 that you mentioned b4 Shaq and King James are all good players, but I don't really think that any of them are all that cool or unique and personable. I could agree that Wade was pretty popular when he was playing "tough nosed" and making his shots, but lately I wouldn't call him all that popular at all compared to the consistently great players that LBJ and Shaq have been all season. Hell, after seing him face Shaq in a Heat loss a few days ago, Wade wasn't one bit "tough nosed" at all. Did you see his bloody nose after he tried running into the Big Fella that day? Wade was bloody and got knocked down just like that.

Kobe is by far the NBA's biggest star. He's been in the league longer, he's won championships, he's won MVP's and he plays in LA.

If you had a talk show and want to book a current NBA player, the player you'd want on the show more than anyone else is Kobe.

Well, he's popular in N.Y. to all those basketball fans that appreciate Witnessing the best current NBA baller around, yet not too many N.Y. fans are happy getting beat by the Cavs (and especially LeBron) time and again. He's not coming to N.Y. though because King James would rather have more Championships, more money and simply would just rather stick with his great friends/team that the Cavs are to him. N.Y.(other than maybe David Lee) is nothing but a joke!
